5 Tips for Quick Relaxation

You’ve got a million things going on at once, thoughts are zipping through your mind, and you just can’t concentrate. What shall I make for dinner? I need to get this report done today! I need to check my emails! I forgot I need to get the cat some new flea medicine! The list goes on and on and on! A spiral of stress, worry and anxiety. It’s times like this that you wish you could just drop everything, and run away to a spa to relax and de-stress. But alas, the demands of modern life don’t allow it.

For the times when you’re feeling frazzled and need to de-stress, there are things you can do relatively quickly to calm yourself, so you can keep going. So here are our 5 tips for quick relaxation.

Drink green tea

Green tea is known to be a good source of L Theanine, a chemical that relieves anger, so it’s the perfect beverage to sip when you’re feeling stressed.

Meditate

Take a quiet moment to yourself, focus on your breathing, and try to clear your mind. The more you meditate, the better you get at freeing your mind, and it can have positive results on your overall mood.

Go for a walk

Whether you’re stressed at work or home, it can sometimes be a good idea to remove yourself and go for a short walk. Use the time to collect your thoughts, breathe and just forget the stress. When you return you can focus.

Yoga

Try starting yoga! Not only is it great exercise, it focuses on connecting mind and body, and includes breathing exercises that will help alleviate stress. Why not try our excellent Yoga course? Click here to check it out.

Talk to someone / write it down

As the old saying goes, a problem shared is a problem halved, so tell a friend or write it down. You’ll feel an instant release and can leave the stress behind.
