Dr. Sengupta completed his postdoctoral research programme at Johns Hopkins university School of Medicine's Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, Maryland as well as a year-long Biostatistics course at Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Sengupta was exposed to a methodical and organised method of conducting research throughout his time at Hopkins. After gaining thorough understanding of the infrastructure and support needed to perform world-class clinical research, he promoted it throughout India and other developing countries.
